Roanoke Island, located in Dare County between the NC Inner Banks and the Outer banks. It's historic 8 mile long island is renowned as the site of the 1587 Lost Colony. It is home to two cities, Manteo and Wanchese.
It is known for - The Lost Colony Outdoor Drama (The nation's longest-running symphonic drama play), Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, Roanoke Island Festival Park (featuring a replica 16th-century ship, the Elizabeth II), The Elizabethan Gardens, North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island, and the many shops in downtown Manteo.
Wanchese is the center of commercial fishing and boatbuilding on the Outer Banks. It was named after Wanchese, the last known ruler of the Roanoke Native American tribe, along with Chief Manteo encountered by English colonists in the sixteenth century.
These were laser etched/cut, hand painted and then filled with clear food grade epoxy enhancing the 3D map. They are 4" in diameter and 3/8" thick.

Each coaster is handcrafted thus the wood grains and color of the paint may vary from the pictures a bit.
